what is caipora?
Caipora is an independent British online boutique that celebrates unique and ethical designer jewellery creations. Each individual piece of jewellery explores the well balanced relationship between humans, beauty and nature, both in material and form.
The name Caipora is synonymous with environmental responsibility, too – it is an entity of indigenous Tupi-Guarani mythology of Brazil, and means ‘the forest protector’.
Caipora Jewellery is the first accessories label to win the Ethical Fashion Forum Innovation Award, in 2011.
This award aims to inspire, encourage and celebrate young brands and designers who create benefits for people, society and the environment. Some of the judges includes – Dolly Jones [Vogue.com], Alina Raetsep [Six Magazine], Diana Verde Nieto [PositiveLuxury.com], Debra Hepburn [Young British Designers], Orsola De Castro [From Somewhere and Estethica Curator], among other great and inspirational professionals.
who founded caipora?
Caipora was founded by Zel Albuquerque.
Zel holds a Business degree and is specialized in branding and strategic marketing. Brazilian born, she has settled in Britain over a decade ago and has spent the last couple of years researching and growing their ethical designer collections.
Combining the best of British quirky personality & elegant style with the passion & vibrancy of Brazil, Zel is responsible for sourcing and consulting handpicked talented designers & artisans alike, supporting each new creation to maintain & embrace sustainability principles, and strive towards a better relationship between nature and ourselves.

Each new design creation presents you a different material, being them, most of the time – raw, natural, up-cycled, or recycled. Details about our selected materials are presented in most pieces, following the tab “description, materials, care, delivery, did you know?”.

how should I care of my new piece?
Each selected material may require a different care.

General suggestion, valid for all jewellery pieces:
JEWELLERY CARE – avoid over exposure to sunlight, avoid direct contact with water and chemicals, store your piece in a well ventilated area and remove it before sleeping. Please remember some our jewellery may contain small parts and are not suitable for children.

If you have no debit/credit card OR wish to order offline, please contact us and let us know which jewellery piece[s] you would like to buy. Please remember to provide your full contact details and we will get back to you with a very easy solution.
Can I return or exchange a jewellery piece?
We want all our customers to be overjoyed with their purchases from Caipora. By accepting returns, we hope to ensure this is the case. You can return an item for any reason, as long as it is in original condition or haven’t been customised specially for you.
Returned items must be unused, in their original condition, in their original box, and must be post-marked within 5 days of receipt. Items must be packaged to prevent damage on the return voyage. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
